WE ARE EMILY ‘22

When designing the branding for We Are EMILY 2022, I drew inspiration from a speech given at the conference 20 years prior by then Michigan AG, Jennifer Granholm, in which she spoke about the inclusiveness of the movement. I used her speech as the foundation of my branding and created a visual language of "I am EMILY", "She is EMILY", and "We are EMILY". The audience was invited to join the campaign and celebrate the fact that it takes women from all walks of life to accomplish our goals.

Creative Direction + Social Media + Print + Signage + Merchandise

The design incorporated copy and repetition as texture, bold colors, and rally and march photography. I utilized bright colors and neon in juxtaposition to heavy black grit and brick, giving an appearance of edge without compromising legibility. The visual branding was daring and unrelenting, perfect for the first in-person conference since the pandemic.
